How acts Altavista's spider:

By a searchin' analisys I've found that Altavista's spider search for the selected item in all a page, but developes a subscribed page's register that isn't dynamic compared to page, so every change done in page doesn't become searchable until page is resubscribed in Altavista's database (Altavista/addurl).
Test I've done is below:

___previously index, and indice.html, had XL3STAR word as link to my E-Mail

___after I've changed that address in XL2STAR without resubscribing pages in Altavista's database

___searching for XL3STAR I've obtained pages Images, Images_i.html, ... containig this address, but searching for XL2Star I've obtained nothing

So, everytime an important change is done in a page, you've got to resubscribe that URL in Altavista's database (Altavista/addurl).

When you send a string to an engine as Altavista, its spider (a robot that searches for the word(s) you select) reads all pages are stored in Altavista's database, everything as simple text, links, alternative text, and so on.
